Why hasnt he called me yet? ?

Okay so me and my ex broke up a year ago and we've been friends since then. He's got a girlfriend who he's been going out for a year now. I still love him but a week ago I suddenly decided to let it go. The reason for this is because I waited for long even though he had a girl. Nothing has happened but I love him :( so I deleted him off fb and elsewhere, just left without telling him. I thought he would have contacted me by now but he hasn't? What could be the reason? Does he care?
